SupportUKtoday - Frequently Asked Questions

General Community Questions
Who are SupportUKtoday?
SupportUKtoday is a UK‑wide community movement that empowers people to raise awareness for the causes that matter most to them. We bring together individuals, charities, venues and organisations through lived‑experience campaigns, community events, storytelling and meaningful connections, all under one unified identity.
Our focus includes mental health, homelessness (including people with pets), families facing terminal illness, memorial causes, loneliness, veterans and a wide range of community‑led initiatives. Everything we do is designed to strengthen communities, support charities and help people feel seen, supported and connected.
We are one movement built on compassion, lived experience and unity.
We do not collect donations or act as a fundraising platform.
Are you a charity?
No. SupportUKtoday is not a charity. We are a national community movement that supports charities by helping them reach more people through awareness, campaigns, events, challenges and community engagement.
Our role is to lift charities up, connect supporters to causes and create opportunities for people to take action in ways that feel meaningful and accessible.
We support charities through awareness, not through donation handling. All fundraising is done directly between the supporter or business and the charity.
Is SupportUKtoday an alternative to JustGiving or GoFundMe?
No. SupportUKtoday is not a donation platform. We do not collect or distribute charity money.
JustGiving / GoFundMe = donation platforms
You donate money → it goes to one charity or one person → finished.
SupportUKtoday = identity, awareness, action and community
You can support charities through:
- Campaigns
- Events and challenges
- Merchandise
- Awareness and storytelling
- Community activities
- Supporting multiple causes at the same time
We reinvest part of our movement income to grow campaigns, support more charities and create long‑term community impact.
We are not “just giving”. We are a movement built on unity, lived experience and real‑world action.
SupportUKtoday does not replace donation platforms. We never handle charity money — supporters and businesses donate directly through official charity links.
How does the fundraising model work?
SupportUKtoday is not a fundraising platform. We do not collect, hold or distribute charity money. Supporters raise money directly for their chosen charity using their own fundraising pages (JustGiving, GoFundMe, etc.).
Our role is to provide identity, awareness, campaigns, events, lived‑experience storytelling and community support, helping supporters reach more people and strengthen their cause.
SupportUKtoday only receives income from merchandise, contributions and movement support. A portion of this income is reinvested into the movement to:
- Build campaigns
- Support more charities
- Grow community impact
- Create new opportunities for supporters
SupportUKtoday can create and host community events, but these are not fundraising events. We only charge for tickets or event costs. If you choose to raise money for a charity, you do so directly through the charity’s official page — never through SupportUKtoday.
SupportUKtoday never receives, processes or transfers charity donations. All donations go directly from the supporter or business to the charity.
Can I choose which charity to support?
Yes. Supporters can choose from our charity list or select a cause area that matters to them. You can support multiple charities at the same time through campaigns, events and awareness activities.
If a charity is not listed, you can add their name when you register. Any UK‑registered charity or cause is welcome to join — either you register them or they register themselves.
How can I get involved?
There are many ways to contribute and join the movement — your support is not limited to money.
You can get involved by:
- Supporting a charity that matters to you
- Contributing financially through our store, products or movement support
- Contributing your time by taking part in events, challenges or volunteering
- Joining a campaign and supporting a cause
- Sharing your story to help raise awareness
- Spreading awareness on social media
- Becoming a venue or club partner
Every action — whether it is time, awareness or financial support — contributes to the same unified movement.
This is not just about support. This is about connection.
What is the meaning behind your logos?
SupportUKtoday Logo (Windmill, Teddy Bear, Heart)
- 🌈 Windmill — transformation (dark to light)
- 🧸 Teddy Bear — comfort
- ❤️ Heart — compassion
Together they represent: hope, comfort and kindness.
S’port Me Today Logo (Running Man)
The running‑man logo represents moving forward, not back to the past. The runner goes from Y to S, symbolising progress and choosing today.
Do you offer mental health support?
We provide resources and signposting, not clinical services. If you need immediate help, please visit our Mental Health Support page.
Is SupportUKtoday safe and legitimate?
Yes. We operate transparently, publish our financial model openly, and do not handle public charity money. All fundraising link clicks take users directly to official, verified platforms like JustGiving or corporate charity pages, ensuring your contributions are secure and reach the intended destination.

What is CRS?
CRS stands for Community Roots Support. This is the framework SupportUKtoday is built on. It is our community‑based equivalent to CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility), but adapted for people, venues and local organisations, not corporations.
CRS focuses on:
- Awareness
- Wellbeing
- Local connection
- Small voluntary gestures
- Community visibility
CRS is not fundraising, not corporate and not a formal partnership model. It simply gives individuals, venues and organisations a clear, pressure‑free way to support their community through the movement.
Is CRS the same as CSR?
No. CSR is a corporate model used by businesses. CRS is our own movement model, designed for community support rather than corporate responsibility.
Both aim to create positive impact, but CRS is built for real people and real communities, not companies.
Do you work with all charities?
We work with charities that align with our core impact areas.
We do not form official signed partnerships. Instead, we invite any UK‑registered charity to take part in campaigns or events.
Charities remain fully in control of their own donations, stalls and fundraising activity.
If a business or supporter wishes to donate, they do so directly through the charity’s official website or fundraising page. SupportUKtoday does not handle donations.
